Here’s what you should have:

Measure and Cut:

Now cut out the plastic canvas into the shapes in the template.  You can print and trace or measure the dimensions as noted in the document below:

Click here for page 1 and click here for page 2 of the plastic canvas template.

Sew:

  1. Sew the plastic canvas to the crocheted wall pieces.
  2. Match up the plastic canvas piece to the coordinating crocheted wall pieces.  You should have plastic canvas pieces that do not match up to crochet pieces.

To sew canvas pieces to crocheted pieces simply thread your needle and knot one end. Insert needle from back to from in a corner square of a plastic canvas piece. bring your needle down through a square a few spaces away, weave your needle under a piece of yarn, making sure not to go through the front of the fabric.  Bring your needle back up in the square next to the space you last brought your needle down, and repeat around.

Starting with your base align your pieces and sew together in the following order:

  1. Align the Short Front Wall with right side facing in, to the outer side of base.
  2. Align one Tall Wall with right side facing out to rear long side of base.
  3. Align other Tall Wall Piece with right side facing in, to the middle of the base length wise, and sew into place.
  4. Align the Left Side Wall to short left side of base and sew into place.
  5. Align the Right Side Wall to short right side of base and sew into place.
  6. Align the Top Shelf canvas piece to the short rows of and side wall and sew into place.
  7. Fold the other side wall into position and align the other side of the top shelf and sew into place.

Assemble:

Fold the entire piece into place.  SC all the seams by joining the yarn through both pieces of fabric at the seams and SC in each row until end.  Fasten off and weave in ends.

Insert the dividers, two dividers in the top shelf and one divider in the lower cubby.  I ran a bead of hot glue around three sides and glued into place.
