Notes:
  • Pattern is written in color scheme as pictured, change colors as desired.
  • Last row in the body is slightly tweaked to create button holes, the pattern mostly repeats itself so if your working your own scheme just tune in when you get to the last row.
  • DC in the Front Loop Only on all even rows for the body, this creates a nice ridge with out it being too wavy.  You can complete this by crocheting in both loops for all rows, your clutch body will still turn out stunning.
  • When making the accordion pieces you are instructed to crochet in the Back Loop only every 3rd row and the Front Loop Only every 3rd row, this creates the accordion bend.

You should have all these pieces:

Let the sewing begin:
  1. Sew the dividers to one of the accordion pieces.
    1. Make sure you have your top rows in line, these will be showing.
    2. Sew the sides of the dividers to the BLO ridge that was created.

  4. Measure and mark the location for the black accordion row to be attached.
    1. Leave a space of about 3in.
    2. Mark 8 rows where the black accordion side will be attached.
    3. Leave 5 rows at end for fold over closure.
  5. Sew the other side to body.

Sewn in the same manner as the mango side.
  6. Sew the gap.
    1. Bend the accordion rows and sew tack them just to hold their bend.
    2. Align the accordion in the middle section and sew into place.
  7. Measure and cut 7in by 10in piece of canvas.  This is optional, it adds a sturdy feel.
  8. Insert piece into clutch and sew tack into place.  I only tacked in the end rows, just to keep it from shifting.
  9. Sew on buttons.
